What
does the National Construction & Demolition Waste Council do?
The key
aim of the National Construction & Demolition Waste
Council (NCDWC) is to provide a framework for achieving compliance
with C&D waste recycling targets set out by the Minister
for the Environment in his policy statement "Changing our
Ways" (50% recycling by 2003, increasing to 85% by 2013). The Council
also promotes best practice with regard to C&D waste prevention and minimisation. |
What is the NCDWC Voluntary Industry Initiative?
The aim of the Voluntary Industry Initiative is to involve all organisations represented on the NCDWC to commit themselves by undertaking a number of agreed actions which will seek to minimise C&D Waste and promote and accelerate C & D Waste recycling. Can
I become a member of the NCDWC?
The
National Construction & Demolition Waste Council was established
by the Forum for the Construction Industry on the recommendation
of Task Force B4 (Recycling of Construction & Demolition Waste)
report. The Council therefore comprises all organisations
recognised as having a significant contribution to make and
at this point in time new membership is not being considered. |
Where
can I obtain information on C&D Waste Legislation?
The NCDWC in conjunction with the Construction Inductry Federation and the Master Builders and Contractors Association published a booklet entitled "Guide to Construction & Demolition Waste Legislation". This publication is available for download in the "Publications/Reports" section of this website.
