The
National Construction and Demolition Waste Council (NCDWC)
was established on June 20th 2002 by the Forum for the Construction
Industry on the recommendation of Task Force B4 as approved
by the Minister for the Environment and Local Government in
his letter dated 11th December 2001. The Council was set up
as a Voluntary Construction Industry Initiative. The role
of the Council is to provide a framework to achieve compliance
with the policy and targets as set out by the Minister for
the Environment and Local Government in the Policy Document
‘Changing Our Ways’ which has committed to a 50% recycling
target by 2003 and a progressive increase to 85% by 2013.
